Applying for a Ghanaian passport has never been as easy as it is now. Gone are the days when applicants had to endure a tedious and complicated process to get hold of a valid Ghanaian passport. The introduction of the online application system has made it possible to apply for a passport from the comfort of your home without the need for “middle men” as was generally the case years back.

Requirements

An applicant must provide the following documents to prove they are eligible for a Ghanaian passport.

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. National ID (Driver’s License, Ghana Card)
  3. Proof of Profession - This can be a work ID with the name of the applicant and organisation as well as the applicant’s position in the organisation. Students can use their student ID. Non-formal workers or unemployed applicants do not need to provide any proof.
